Mobile Screen Test
This page is your starting point for testing a phone or tablet screen. Every test runs directly in the browser — iPhone, Android, iPad or anything with a touchscreen. Pick the symptom you're seeing, or run through all tests in order to do a full check.
What are you seeing?
All mobile screen tests
Tap any card to go to that test. All tests are browser-based — they work on iPhone (Safari) and Android (Chrome) without an app download.
Ghost Touch Test
Detect phantom touches and rogue inputs your screen registers without being touched. Includes cause diagnosis and fix steps.
📱 iOS & Android Start TestTouchscreen & Multi-Touch
Draw to check accuracy and find dead zones. Count simultaneous touch points your device supports (most phones = 10).
📱 iOS & Android Start TestDead Pixel Test
Cycle solid colour fields to find dead (black), stuck (bright) or hot (always-on) pixels on your phone screen.
📱 iOS & Android Start TestDisplay Colour Test
Visually check white point, over-saturation and tinting. Useful for spotting Samsung AMOLED vivid-mode issues or colour drift.
📱 iOS & Android Start TestScreen Uniformity
50% grey and solid colour slides reveal pressure damage, tinting and brightness blotches — common on phones after drops.
📱 iOS & Android Start TestStuck Pixel Fixer
A moveable colour box attempts to unstick frozen pixels by cycling colour over them. Results vary — try before you claim warranty.
📱 iOS & Android Run FixeriPhone users: Some tests work best at full brightness. If Safari blocks fullscreen, tap the share icon and choose "Add to Home Screen" — this unlocks standalone mode with better fullscreen support.
Android display test codes
Many Android phones have a built-in hardware test mode accessible via a secret dialer code. These work without any app and test the display alongside other hardware. Results vary by manufacturer and Android version.
| Brand | Code | What it tests |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung | *#0*# | LCD, touch, LEDs, sensors |
| Xiaomi / Redmi | *#*#64663#*#* | Full hardware diagnostics |
| OnePlus | *#808# | Engineering mode |
| Oppo / Realme | *#899# | Screen, touch, sensors |
| iPhone | No code | Use browser tests or iPhone Screen Test → |
Mobile Screen Test — FAQ
How do I test my mobile screen without an app?
Open screentester.uk in your phone's browser (Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone). Every test runs in the browser using standard web APIs — no download or account needed.
Can I test my iPhone screen in Safari?
Yes. All tests work in Mobile Safari. The touchscreen, ghost touch, dead pixel and display colour tests all use browser APIs fully supported on iOS 14 and later.
What is the secret code to test an Android screen?
On Samsung phones, dialing *#0*# opens a hardware test menu. Xiaomi/Redmi use *#*#64663#*#*. Codes vary by manufacturer — browser tests work on any Android device without a code.
How do I know if my phone screen is damaged?
Run the dead pixel test for stuck or dead pixels on solid colour fields. Use the ghost touch test for phantom inputs. The touchscreen test reveals dead zones. The uniformity test shows pressure damage as dark patches on grey.
Why is my phone screen showing ghost touches?
Ghost touches are most often caused by moisture, a cheap charger, a lifting screen protector, or digitiser damage. Remove the charger and screen protector, clean and dry the screen, and retest.
