  1. Click Start Test and enter fullscreen.
  2. Step through red, green, blue, white and black.
  3. Scan slowly corner-to-corner; dots that persist are defects.

Dead Pixel Test — FAQ

How does it work?

The test displays bright, static colour slides (R/G/B/white/black). You step manually or enable a slow auto-cycle. Defective pixels stand out against at least one colour.

What’s the difference between dead and stuck pixels?

Dead pixels are black on all colours. Stuck pixels remain lit as a constant red/green/blue sub-pixel on one or more colours.

Can stuck pixels be fixed?

Sometimes. Try the Stuck Pixel Fixer to stimulate the area. Results vary; there’s no guaranteed fix.

Is the test safe for OLED?

Yes. The slides are static and you control the timing. Avoid leaving high-brightness static images onscreen for long periods.
